Irish: Tá áthas an domhain orm.
English: I am extremely happy or delighted.
Notes: "Áthas an domhain" means the happiness of the world. It is much more intense than áthas on its own.

Irish: Tuirse, Tá tuirse orm.
English: Tiredness, I am tired.
Notes: Tiredness “tuirse” is also said to be on a person.

Irish: Áthas, Tá athás orm.
English: Happy, I am happy.
Notes: Feelings, moods and longings are generally, but not exclusively, said to be on a person in Irish.

Notes: In the same way that you can have the happiness of the world on you, you can have the tiredness of the world.

Irish: Brón, Tá brón orm.
English: Sadness, I am sad or I am sorry.
Notes: “Brón” does not mean regret which is “aiféala.”

Irish: Iontas, Tá iontas orm.
English: Surprise or Amazement, I am surprised.
Notes: “Ionadh” is also another word for “iontas”

English: I am completely amazed.
Notes: Like “áthas an domhain” "iontas an domhain" is much more intense.

English: Anger, I am angry.
Notes: The negative emotions follow the same pattern.

English: He was extremely angry.
Notes: “Fearg an domhain” follows the pattern already outlined.

English: Worry, She was worried/anxious.
Notes:

Irish: Codladh, Tá codladh uirthi.
English: Sleep, She is sleepy.
Notes: If she was asleep, one would say "Tá sí ina codladh. Literally "She is in her sleep"

Irish: Dul amú, Tá dul amú ort.
English: Gone astray, You are mistaken.
Notes: Being mistaken is also something that is on you. There are other ways of saying this as well.

Irish: Aiféala, An bhfuil aiféala ort?
English: Regret or remorse. Do you regret or Are you sorry?.
Notes: Aiféala, regret is often mixed up with brón, sadness.
